The automotive manufacturing sector in Thailand has emerged as a significant force in the Southeast Asian region, drawing in numerous global automotive manufacturers and solidifying its position as one of the largest automotive production hubs in the area. According to industry sources, the anticipated total vehicle production is set to reach 2.4 million units, surpassing the 2.1 million units recorded in 2023. Projections indicate a rise in domestic vehicle sales to 1.1 million units from the 0.9 million units reported in 2023, while vehicle exports are expected to climb to 1.3 million units, up from the 1.2 million units in 2023. Consequently, the production of electric vehicles is forecasted to increase to 0.3 million units, compared to 0.1 million units in 2023.
